Questions that helicopter flights, are often asked a) Are the ground exams difficult? No - but you will have to do free helicopter trial lessons, some studying. A minimum of 45 hours flight training*, at least 10 of which flying lessons, must be solo, in accordance with a JAR (JointAviation Requirement) recognized syllabus. *(This may be reduced by up to 6 hours if you hold a valid PPL(A). 2. Complete theoretical knowledge examinations in:- Air law/ human performance and limitations/ aircraft general knowledge/ flight performance and planning, (which includes Navigation, Meteorology flight training, and Operating Procedures). 3. Obtain a JAR medical before first solo. 4. Pass a radio communications test. 5. Pass a flight skill test. You must be 17 before applying for a license, and 16 before going solo. All ground and flight test are conducted in house by our own staff.
